The final concerts for the current Big Band line-up were a great success this week. Congratulations to the boys for their storming show at the Bull’s Head on Wednesday, at the School on Thursday and in Birmingham at the National Festival of Music For Youth on Friday. These performances mark the end of an era for the Band - the fourth generation has now left and we shall have to start building again with the new band in September.
Huge thanks are due the boys who are leaving (Andrew Baigey, Jack Collins, Emmett Cruddas, James D’Costa, Vincent Freely, Chris Kalcov, Matthew O’Keeffe, Matthew Liebeck, Martin Huynh, Oliver Greally). They have worked incredibly hard at their playing for many years and been wonderful ambassadors for the School on countless occasions. They have been a pleasure to work with and it has been an honour to lead the Band during their time in it.
The Big Band’s appearance at Ronnie Scott’s world famous Jazz Club is now just weeks away! The Band will play from 1-3 pm on Saturday 5 March.
The event is SOLD OUT - there may be some returns however and those who might be interested in attending should contact the School’s Music Administrator on 020 7605 0046
Dates for the Band’s appearances in 2011 are now available. These new dates include two new Bull’s Head dates, the appearance at the Regional Festival of the National Festival of Music for Youth and of course the Band’s appearance at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club.
