Many congratulations to the Band on an amazing performance at the Big Band Evening on Friday night. It was quite the simply the best the Band has ever sounded in its fourteen years of playing.
Congratulations also to the younger boys who played so well in Junior Big Band and the Monday morning crew!

Very good job on Friday, guys, it went very well I thought. Lots of people there and they seemed to have a good time. Lots of the playing was great too - strong right until the end. Well done! I look forward to getting some photos on the site.
I was struck putting together the Set List that the repertoire is a bit stuck in a rut. We are learning new material all the time but we don’t then keep it up ready to play, partly because it tends to all be a little too hard to be played without a lot of work. There is time now, finally, over the next few weeks to put together some new core repertoire that we can rely on - simple charts like Lester Leaps In, It Might as Well Be Spring, St Thomas and so on that we used to be able to play but have been lost over the past few years. Lots to do - we have to make the most of the time remaining with the Upper Sixth people!!
